29.02.2020 Leap Year Day

Here a bit of my laid back Saturday on call.   I did a ward round in the morning, discharged four patients after performing ultrasounds (one with a spontaneous abortion, one receiving treatment for a missed abortion and one kidney scan for my c-section patient with the deep cervical tear) and dressing changes.  I was relieved to know that all were doing well.  The fourth patient just needed reminder that it is summer and very warm for her baby, which was dressed ready for a German winter.  After that I was relaxing in the garden while staying close to the phone for the patient who came in with contractions.  She was post c-section so we were very cautious during her delivery.  Thankfully she delivered without a problem so I wasn’t needed on this case and had more time to relax on this beautiful day around the premises of my new housing, nicknamed the ‘white house’.

New location (on the other side of the hospital to Villa Kunterbunt)

Soaking up sunshine on my porch

Found okra!  Nice vegetable dish I cooked for my housemates and myself

It's adorable but we did have to tell the mom that it was inappropriate for the temperature outside!
