02.03.2020 Monday morning

So its my one and only work day for this week because after many days and nights of working, I took some days off to travel with some friends to the west coast for the first time!  Today was all about wrapping up some more appointments.  I have two ladies, one with missed abortion and one spontaneous abortion that I have been monitoring and treating with Cytotec to promote contractions.  Both were progressing well to an empty uterus with moderate bleeding so we continued another cycle of medication.  Will be seeing them again next Monday (that has become my clinical appointment day).  As I was finishing up, I got info from labor and delivery that our midwives have a patient near term who has been having contractions and a rupture of membranes but no progress in the delivery process despite induction of labor.  When I arrived in the labor and delivery room I found an already suspicious CTG from the last hour and more variable decelerations suggesting a pathologic CTG with a protracted first stage of labor.  The indication for C-section was made and after an uncomplicated procedure we had a healthy little boy.
